Superintendent Mitchell Davis, Jr. is the eldest child of the late Brother Mitchell and Mother Evelyn Davis, Sr. Pastor Davis was raised in the Church Of God In Christ in Dade City, Florida and has served under the tutelage of pastors Elder T. B. Belford, Elder Praylor, Elder David Beachum, Sr., Elder Hall, Bishop W. E. Davis, Bishop H. L. Simpson and Elder George Keys. He was saved and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost at the age of 15. The entire community noticed the great change that took place in his life.
Pastor Davis was ordained and appointed as the Pastor of Church Of God In Christ, Dade City by the late Bishop W. E. Davis in 1983. Pastor Davis became the Superintendent of the newly formed Dade City District in 1986.
Other points of interest on Pastor Davis’ ministerial resume include: former Director, Jurisdiction of Southwestern Florida Public Relations Department, former Chairman of the Elders’ Council, Producer of the “Hallelujah Praise” live recording by the Jurisdiction of Southwestern Florida Jurisdictional Choir and currently serving as one of the Administrative Assistants to Bishop Matthew Williams.
Pastor Davis is a firm believer in community involvement and has served as a member and the Chairman of the Pasco County Housing Authority, a member and Chairman of the Trustee Board of Pasco Hernando Community College, charter member of the Pasco Education Foundation, Inc., founder of the Citizens Concerned for Students and is currently a member of the College Reach Out Program (CROP) Advisory Council.
